Guestbook Audit...

We've recently audited our guest books to find out what you've all been saying. It's amazing how one place keeps coming up again and again as a perennial favourite of all our guests and that's Daymer Bay. It's probably the most dog friendly beach in Cornwall and its on the north coast near Helsbury. If you've not been it's a absolute must, we've marked it on our Google map for your reference...

All New Broadview...

We've recently upgraded Broadview , the most dog friendly cottage in Britain, even further by adding new flooring throughout the whole property, slate in the kitchen, solid oak in the hall and living room, luxurious carpets in the bedrooms and tiles in a new wet room. All the doors to the room and cupboards have been replaced and we've also given it a new slate roof. It is looking absolutely stunning and we are fully expecting 5 stars at our next inspection.

We asked Jackie Stanley, one of North Cornwall's leading estate agents to take a look around and she said: "The property is beautifully presented and in a most appealing setting with the benefit of approximately two acres adjoining. In my opinion, Broadview is of exceptional quality and has been very stylishly converted."

Visitors' Book 001

We are planning to put some extracts from our visitor's book here in our blog, here's a recent comment we received:

"Just thought I would do you a quick note to say how delighted we were with our stay at the Farmhouse last week. Your website is very informative and I really thought you just doing a really good marketing job but when I got there I was overwhelmed by the attention to detail, the location, the accommodation and the ‘little touches’. We have been holidaying in this country for the last 20 years taking our two Goldies with us and have stayed in various places. We are always promised dog friendly cottages but as long as we are happy to keep them only in the kitchen – hardly dog friendly! Our boys are part of our family and very few restrictions are placed on them at home. I have to say that they were able to continue with those restrictions on holiday and I never felt that I had to watch them constantly. Well done for providing home from home for humans and heaven for our canine friends. You will hear from us again !!!!"

FREE poo bags at Helsbury Park...

If you're visiting Helsbury soon you'll see that we've installed poo bag dispensers on site. They contain branded bags for you to use on site, take with you on days out and take home and use. In fact we don't mind if you give them to your all your friends as well, it's all good publicity for Helsbury after all!

Dog Facilities at Eden...

A lot of people ask us about going to the major attractions with their dogs, we were at Eden last week and noted that they have put up these bays for dog owners. Basically its just just shaded car parking slots so your car doesn't get to warm while you're inside.

If you haven't been before you need to spend about 3 hours there to get a proper feel for the place. You could do it quicker if you don't stop for a meal etc but you could also be there a lot longer if you read everything and try and absorb the whole concept. The dog bays are near the entrance so you could always pop back.

Helsbury Park Photo Competition 2007 / Entry 2

Great one from Dave Currie, his dog Eddie making friends with the brass ornamental dog by the fireplace in Broadview. Apparently every now and again he'd "donk" it with his nose and watch the dog's head wobble on its spring. Classic.

And this is Neo enjoying a well-deserved cool off in the river at Helsbury...
