2010 Calendar & Price List

As we filled so quickly this year we've got our 2010 calendar and price list launched nice and early so you can get booking for next year. We've also extended our £200 couples discount to cover the whole year and not be exclusive to outside school holidays. As we see so many couples we thought it was unfair to penalise them in our peak times. Hope to see you soon!

Solar panels are installed...

We're hoping for a really good summer for more than one reason this year as we're using the sun to heat our swimming pool, the panels are geared up to produce water at 82 degrees to keep the pool at a very comfortable 32. They look very impressive and hopefully will be man enough for the job.

The Sauna is Finished!!

It's a small victory in the long battle to get our pool finished but it seems exciting to get one room completed and it's huge, room for about 10 people at least. Next it's the gym!

Our Free Doggy Soap...

We've been putting a dog soap in our barns as part of our welcome for some time and we've had some really good feedback about it, we've just received this one from Jennie Comley: "We have been extremely lucky in as much that neither of the dogs have rolled in the desirable badger perfume since our return from Helsbury; and we are not habitual dog bathers! That was until yesterday, Buntie really perfected the art !!!!!! When it is that bad, I find sometimes after drying I still need to rub her with a little lavender oil, as the eau de badger still lingers, but with your soap it was not necessary. I think using a bar rather tipping from a bottle, we either use less or it certainly seemed not to lather up so much, thus making rinsing a much easier task and all these days later Buntie's coat is still beautifully shiny, very soft AND still sweet smelling. Yep I am impressed!!!"

You can purchase the soap from So Soapy's web site.

Cornwall Cam

Cornwall Cam has some great features on north Cornwall just lately, over the Easter break there's been some lovely shots up on Roughtor [which you can see from Helsbury]. But they've also been to Daymer Bay, and Rock. Definitely worth a look.

More social networking for dogs...

Australian Dogtree is a free service that aims to help dog owners find playmates and walking friends for their canine companions. To search for doggie friends, human users can simply enter their postal code; more advanced search options are also available, such as breed and size. Either way, the result is a list of other suitable canine members in their area. Once they find some that seem like a good match, dog owners can invite them through the site for a playdate or meeting. There are currently almost 600 members on Dogtree, and most elect to use their dog's photo and name as their username on the site.

A big pat on the back...

Everyone who has visited Helsbury Park in the last 12 months must have noticed our Recycling Centres. We had these made (from FSC wood by local craftsmen) to try to organise our recycling more efficiently. Most people who completed our online ‘green’ questionnaire said they’d be happy to do it especially if it was simple and that has certainly proved true. In the last 12 months we have taken nearly 2 tonnes of plastics, tins, glass and cardboard to the Recycling Centre! Well done everyone that’s a lot of stuff not in landfill and a big THANK YOU for your support in our efforts towards sustainable tourism.
